This is just a quick update to let everybody know what's going on with the projects that I'm going to be working on.
MalykAI is no longer my main project, Ascension is. It's a great project, I'll be spending a lot of time on it, and I WILL be finishing it.
MalykAI doesn't have tons of stuff left to do (engine wise; I still have all of the content to do.) Mainly the object system, event system, console system, and menu system. The in-game editor is nearly complete, I just have to tie it into the console system, which isn't finished yet lol.
The hardest part will be doing the collision detection. One of the things that the old version didn't support that I really want are blocks that you can walk through, but you can still land on top of.
Lastly, instead of rushing through and finishing the game ASAP, I'm going to take my time and try to polish it. I don't plan on selling MalykAI, but I have been thinking about selling the sequel and I'll be using a lot of the engine in that, so polishing it now would be the best plan of action IMHO.
Harbinger is a text RPG that I'm going to be working on with LinkOfAzeroth from gamedev.net and possibly two others. I'm still working on the storyline, but I'll post it as soon as it's finished.
This is for those of you that have been following my journal. To be honest, Ascension wasn't originally going to be a game, but now that I have the time, I'm expanding it into one and I have to say that it's design is looking pretty sweet. As you can see I've given it the project name Ascension and that's about all you're going to get out of me for a little while. Although, I will be sneaking little hints in here and there.
Once I get to point where I have a release ready(obviously quite a ways away), I'll be asking for some testers. Once I get this far I'll make a big fuss with a nice large-print entry or something. Maybe some flashing lights.
