Ill

Man, am I ever ill.

Ended up goint to A&E last night since I was having trouble breathing (always a worry). Was expecting to get prescribed antibiotics or something.

Ended up having chest X-rays, then an ECG(!).

Thankfully they found nothing that concerned them but it was a nervous hour or so waiting for them to tell me. They reckon just severe flu and gave me the rest of the week off work.

Bit weird, the ECG. They attached all these electrodes to my chest, then attached one to each ankle. I was lying there wondering if I was going to start jolting around but actually didn't feel a thing.

So I'm goofing about watching DVDs this week now. Just watched Swordfish. Worst techo-babble film ever seen. Avoid at all costs. Load of crap.

Now in the middle of Troy, which have seen before but quite like that sort of thing.

Nonsense. Your flu must be inducing delirium. [smile]

So you reckon then that whoever hacked GameDev recently was sitting at a desk with like seven different flat screen monitors and was able to bring the site down by making loads of 3D blocks fit into a bigger 3D block?

Load of old tosh, that film, flu notwithstanding, although I am willing to concede that the flying bus was quite cool.

Well you might as well watch Hacker then! Their virus programs consist of like pac man eating away at the "kernel" which is a bunch of blocks.

That movie is sweet though. :P

Or else, for nostalgic sake go watch The Wizard (it's on DVD now!).

Hope you feel better!

Appreciate all the concerns about my health. I'm feeling much better now and am convinced that the killer flu has passed.

Don't know how aware the international audience is of the fact that we have had a bird flu "outbreak" in England. I was driving through the village where it occurred on Sunday (my aunt lives there, you see), and on Monday I developed the worst flu I have ever had in my life.

So that worried me for a bit.

But when I told the doctor at the hospital, he just laughed at me and I don't appear to have

a) died
b) sprouted wings

or

c) actually developed bird flu

So I guess everything is now okay. Thanks for all the concerns though. Squawk! Who's a pretty boy then?

We can't forget about Wargames. I think it's funny how Wargames was made in the 80's with really no thought given that people might find it boring to look at a real computer and the movie is still better than all the special effects crap that is out there.
