Server switch

We've temporarily moved the site to a different server. Well, I say 'moved' - it's actually a new install, synthesised from our source code server and various other bits, which is why certain things (e.g. the frontpage) are a little out of date. Still, pretty damn fast, isn't it? This is apparently what happens when you go from running a site on a 7-year-old crusty heap covered in application splunge to running a site on a fresh, newly imaged machine with nothing else installed on it.

Incidentally, did anyone else notice how we switched the servers over with... ooh, all of about 10 seconds of downtime? I thought that was pretty good.

(An update with more details about exactly what I've been up to will be forthcoming once everything is finished).

[Edit: journals and smilies are fixed, by the way]

Nice job - I had noticed the site was running smoother, but just put that down to our corporate proxy deciding not to be shit today [lol]
