Thought it was about time I posted something game dev related.

I've just started a sort of RPG idea. Sort of Zelda-type viewing angle fake 3D thingy. Here's a forest:



Current plan is to have static images for characters and objects rather than animations so that adding lots of different stuff will not be too big a job.

See how we get on. The fog of war is the next major task to implement since I want it to be based on line of sight.

Dunno that series. I just mean non-animated characters really, but still moving about and stuff. Just can't be arsed to draw 30 frames of animation every time I want to add a new sort of monster and stuff.

Such a view style with single-frame sprites is a common look for graphical roguelikes, so I've developed a comfortable liking towards it. I'm looking forward to seeing in what direction this develops, and of course will hope for some roguelike elements. ;)
