Here's a wee moovie of the geometry cannon at work. If you like your journal entries with some sport - see if you can spot the cow in the thumbnail before you play the movie =)

That is seriously cool

I think I spotted the cow in the thumbnail, but am unsure even after watching the vid. Is the cow's ear just left and up a bit from the black cursor? [smile]

Yup - that's him! And I think you're right, I'm guessing it's his ear too. I didn't notice the mouse cursor. I'll have to try and find a way of getting rid of that when I grab the movies.

That's wicked, have you considered having this gun or something like that in the game? You could even use it to solve puzzles :)

[EDIT]

With limited ammo of course. For example, boxes float on water for a few seconds before sinking and you would have only 10 boxes to fire to traverse a portion of water.

Very nice.

I have to ask though, did you use "moovie" purposely?

I originally made it as a throw away test toy ... but I enjoyed using it so much, I'm currently planning on using a variant of iit as the main weapon/tool. I definitely agree with needing to limit the ammo a bit, and I've got some plans for how I might be able to work that in. Having the boxes sink on the water is cool.

And Programmer16 - yes, it's deliberate. You should see my physics code! Physics::Moove( const Vector& m) =)

Wow. Can't download the movie at the moment as am at work, but this game has clearly made some impressive leaps forward since I last read your journal.

Just hope you don't forget its "Head Over Heels" roots too much [smile].

Wow - good memory! And fear not - this is more a test-bed than an iteration of the game. I'm really hoping I can work this little gun into the Head Over Heels style puzzles though as I think it solves one of the biggest problems I had trying to move that kind of gameplay into "true" 3D ... more on this once I get a prototype up and running =)

Just seen the movie. Awesomeness.

You remember Head's doughnut gun? How cool would that be done like this?
