My other eclipse plugin book arrived yesterday, which was nice. It's not as in-depth as the description suggests, and it's got one of those annoying introductory chapters which wastes everyones time by starting from scratch, but other than that it seems pretty comprehensive.

The actual map editor is making slow progress, but most of that is me figuring out how on earth to do things. Getting the basics done doesn't seem to be too hard but making things properly robust (like disabling buttons when they're not available) tends to be somewhat more tricky. I'm trying to add the properties view (where objects can have arbitrary key-value properties associated with them) at the moment.

And if all goes well I'll have my internet back in a couple of weeks, which means no more boring text-only entries. [grin]
