Dual CPUs of PAIN!

Sign in to follow this

So, I got myself an Intel Core 2 Duo system this weekend.

It's fucking fast.

I can't believe how fast.

It's 5 AM.

I should have been in bed 4 hours ago.

Ran my ball demo. Got about ~740 FPS in full screen with 1000 sprites. Disturbing. My old Athlon 64 3000+ only managed around 350-450? (I can't recall now, it's way too late)

I need to confirm this with fraps. But if the numbers are right, I'm severely CPU bound when comparing the HGE tut7 demo. His seems to run at the same speed. But I'm thinking that I've got my timing code fucked up and it breaks on dual cores.

Oh well, I'll give it another in the afternoon.

Can't sleep. Clowns will eat me.

I want a Core 2 Quad whenever the prices get cut. I don't need one, and I suspect at least one of the cores will be inactive most of the time, but I'm sure I can find a use for it.
