There is a HERE which I'd appreciate people testing and reporting back what kind of framerates they get.
Off work sick today, so made some progress.

220 - 240 fps. :)
(Pentium 4 3Ghz w/ GeForce7600GT)
Thanks.

Solid 75 FPS here - looks like it's locked to my monitor refresh rate?
GeForce Quadro FX 3450/4000 @ 1600x1200, Intel Core2 6600 @ 2.4GHz, 3GB RAM (My work PC).

I got a solid 60 FPS the first time I ran it - like Evil Steve, it looks like it is waiting on VSync.
Forcing it off in the nvidia control panel gave me right around 300 fps.
Core2 E6600, GF8800GTX
(the demo is cool by the way - great job on the collision detection!)

~ 270 FPS
Had to manually disable vertical sync.
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, GeForce Go 7600, 2GB RAM
Ps: Why doesn't it quit when you hit 'esc'? [smile]

Thanks all. It is set to wait for vsyc - just wanted to make sure that all the collision detection and response wasn't dropping it below the refresh rate on anyone's PC.
Sorry - always forget to say Alt-F4 to quit [smile].

this is awesome dude. I wonder what your gonna make with this, a top-down space shooter?
I am getting 400-440fps as I move around.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (about 2500mhz each core)
ATI Radeon x1950 Pro 256mb video card
2Gigs Ram

Thanks.
Ironically, I seem to be getting the best results since I dumped any attempts to do any spatial indexing and am just doing a naive O(n^2) object-object comparison.
I'm just doing an AABB check before a SAT test. The simplicty of this seems to be getting better performance than the complexity of using indexing grids, and also suffers from none of the limitations.
This demo level is also entirely populated with polygons, whereas the SAT tests for circular objects are far faster, and the game is likely to contain more circular than polyganol objects.
So given that this test level contains far more objects than a real level is likely to, I'm just going to stick with this approach for now.
And yes, plan is for this to be a top down shooter, but with strong elements of playing snooker/pool with your ship's cannons and spherical space debris.

solid 60 pfs
p4 2.8ghz
1 gig ram
ati x1300 (512 ddr3)
impressive and cool physics.
I've gotta mention that the highly speckled background made me a little dizzy watching it fly by, maybe this was just me though
