Gah, why's it always so hard to kick things off again in the new year? :(
Think I'll have to dry out and stay off the beers for a while after the Christmas festivity over-indulgence (like a record number of people I know are doing this year already!)

So... five years of Carrier hacking experience has passed! What do I have to show for it? Quite a lot, but still seemingly little as well. Time to wrap this up I think, before it gets out of hand.

Got my work cut out for me soon too, with child # 2 arriving in a few weeks :) Hmmm better get some hacking in quick... :o

This is so cool!

I got a copy of Amiga Forever for Christmas, so of course the first thing I do is snag a crack of Carrier Command and load it up. It was as much fun as I remember, regardless of the blocky dithered graphics that left my sons in stitches.

I would love to playtest your latest creation. Do you have a forum going somewhere? This is by far the most exciting game release that I have seen in a long time!

Heh - your sons need a lesson in gameplay! ;)
I'm *trying* to get things in a playable state before releasing anything, so it's not just a 'tech demo' thingy.
Gradually getting back into gear now, so *hopefully* have something soonish (I know - I've said this many times before!!)
My todo list is getting more structured and disciplined, so that will help...

Can't wait to have a look at the "finished" product, intrested to see your take on what was an great game of its time. and in my mind possible one of the best gameplays ever made.

So good luck with it.

Hi M,

Grats on the expected little one!

Happy to hear that this project is still going, and would be REAllY looking forward to having a quick fly around in a manta!

Shame about the forums all going, has anyone heard of any news regarding the old site?

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Steve

Heh, suddenly got crowded in here :)
Thanks peoples - roughly 3-4 weeks to littl'un time!! I'll get him working on the models for me as soon as possible ;)

It really is amazing the amount of work these modern game thingies take - I did underestimate it quite badly. When the code base is as large as this is getting, it takes quite an effort to add new features etc, somewhat due to the part-time approach I have to take too. Ah well, I've set a target to get an Alpha sometime this year. Hopefully earlier than later...
