It is true the heart is not coherent with the main look of the game. I just don't have any good idea to improve it. Maybe a 3D heart or draw it like the textures of the 3D elements of the level. Idealy I'd like to have a "viking" style design for the UI but I am really bad when it comes to UI in general.

It defiantly looks sweet, I like how you don't let us know what it is either, heh.
If I had to guess, I would say its maybe an begin/end level portal, or a save point maybe. Idk either way it looks awesome. I cant wait until you update the hearts in the top left though, they look ms paint compared to the nice 3D stuff :)
