A friend of mine received a Gmail invite. I didn't think it was that much of a big deal. Didn't matter to me since I own a couple of my own domains and can have my own email with as much space as I needed.
He mentioned he wasn't able to use his gaming name 'Alagar' since it was taken. For some reason I felt inclined to get a gmail account for my gaming name before it was taken.
I now have firstname.lastname@example.org
Here is where I went overboard. I also got my real name at gmail.com for personal email. And I got my business name at gmail.com. I also got my wife's name for her personal gmail account (although she will probably never use it).
I am stopping now...
