That shouldn't take me too long. Once I have that done I have two things which I can choose to do next, so I'll add to the list when I make that decision.
I also realized that I didn't need the alpha channel for my bitmaps. I decided that a color key and a fixed transparency value would be enough for what I needed to do, so I just set up the transparency through the texture states like this:
Device->SetTextureStageState(0, D3DTSS_ALPHAOP, D3DTOP_MODULATE);
Device->SetTextureStageState(0, D3DTSS_ALPHAARG1, D3DTA_TEXTURE);
Device->SetTextureStageState(0, D3DTSS_ALPHAARG2, D3DTA_CONSTANT);
Device->SetTextureStageState(0, D3DTSS_CONSTANT, 0x33FFFFFF);
Me and the artist met up during school today to plan out what we're going to be doing over the coming week. Not much new stuff came up. We know what we have to do for this scene and its just a case of getting it done. We were asked by the school though to write up a status report to prove that we aren't doing nothing. They obviously aren't expecting much, just a token page of anything, but we're going to make up a really cool report on tuesday evening. It'll be good to have the report just so I can look back and see how far its come.
We did a fair amount of talking about Kernel Chaos though. We threw around some unit ideas and general look/feel concepts. I think that when we get down to it we'll have so many ideas and concepts stored up that it'll be great fun to make.
Anyway I'm gooing to get cracking on that list.
