Joel Davis' current GameDev article "Better Programmer Art" inspired me to do some image-making. I could really relate to his section on pixel-pushing; I've gone down that path too often. This is a graphic design of dolphins that came to me a couple of months ago. I constructed it today using GIMP and some sealife photos found on the web. Although the image could use polish, I think it really works. I expect elements will appear through some incarnation in my game.

Here are other strange sealife (or seadeath) I've run across recently that might be suitable for game character ideas..
