Changing my mainboard

thanks for your comments about my first review. I'll post the Visual Sidekick review on wednesday evening.

The last couple of weeks my motherboard behaved strangely. In fact, some symptoms from 6 month ago re-appeared: freezing upon USB restart during booting, network disconnects, flickering GFX, doesn't start up when more than 3 GB of memory are sticked in, ...

So I decided that I have to change the motherboard. After reading a little bit on-line, I decided to give a shot at the Gigabyte EP45-DQ6. I've read some good reviews about the board and it's very feature complete: support of all current 775 socket CPUs, up tgo 1600 Mhz FSB, 8Gb RAM DDR2 1200Mhz (although some sites report 16GB...), 4 (!!! in words FOUR) RJ45 1GB LAN ports (which are all teamable), a whole lot of SATA connectors, 12 USB 2.0 ports, 3 IEEE1394a poers, etc etc

So currently I'm backing up all my stuff and hopefully, I'll be back with a fresh installed Vista x64 this afternoon :)

Wish me luck :)
