Citizen: Could anyone help me with a test run?

Hello. I'd like to ask you guys for some help. I'm in sore need of anyone who could check if Citizen executes on their computer. All you would have to do is to download the ZIP file below, unpack it and run Citizen.exe. I would be immensly grateful if you do.

Citizen.zip [Download link]

Recently I tried to download and run Citizen on a friend's computer (OMG I got 1 friend!) It didn't work even though I thought I had provided the nesessary VC++ runtime dlls, msvcp90.dll and msvcr90.dll in this case. I got back home and managed to eliminate the CRT dll dependence (by setting the /MT compiler flag.) According to Dependency Walker the program now only uses standard Windows dlls and the DirectX runtime. Now I need to know if there are other issues apart from dependencies.

Works fine. Running on Windows XP, Athlon 3000+ 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, GeForce 8600 256MB.

Hope that helps.

That's really good to know. Thanks.

If anyone have trouble running it please post the contents of the log file (if one is created) here.

Yes, no probs, although I had to update my DirectX runtime.

Here's your log file rather than me try to remember what my PC specs are:

Good. Good. It seems to be working on various machines. Now I forgot to ask you if the computers you tested on have Visual Studio installed or not. But now I've got a hint that it's working and I should be able to do more surgical testing on my own.

Thanks to all three of you. You've been a great help. Good show EasilyConfused to post the log. Now I know the machine specs detection works too.

It works fine here with VS2009 Standard installed. Are there supposed to be black polygons in the background?

There is a curious time gap for all of you between loading the files mark.png and spark.png. I need to check this but it's probably the std::map holding the resources that needs to allocate more space. The files themselves are small. What bothers me is that gregs' time gap is 44 seconds long.

And yes there are supposed to be black polygons in the background. Or as I like to call them, really bad programmer's art. [smile]
