Weapons Demo

Ok, hopefully this one works for everyone. I've completely done away with my awful filesystem and replaced it with something very simple. I've tested the app on an old laptop without MSVC++ installed, and it worked fine.

Weapons Demo (.zip) Win32

I'd be interested to know if/how it runs on your system.

IMPORTANT: The first line in "config.cfg" needs to be the path of the folder. If it doesn't work, please let me know. Also, a value of '1' for VSYNC doesn't really work yet.

Controls:
E,S,D,F = movement (this is so your pinky can use 'A')
A = dash (too powerful, and not working correctly)
1-5 = cycle camera size
Z,X,C,V,B,N = the different weapons
LMB = fire weapon
mouse wheel up/down, and button = changes the camera between 2-4 (for ease)
Esc = quits
F5 = take screenshot

Works a treat here. I changed it to fullscreen, 1280 x 1024 with a 4:3 aspect as well and worked fine. (32 bit Vista, Core 2 Duo and an ATI Radeon HD 3600 if that is of any interest).

The animations are superb.

Great! Thanks for trying it out. I'm glad to hear it worked on Vista.

Works good here too (WinXP)! I liked spinning up the windmills and then throwing basketballs into them. I found a couple bugs, though. Its possible to "fly" by repeatedly pressing the jump button and you can crash the game by firing the sticky blaster into the air for several seconds(looks like a memory allocation problem). Otherwise, its pretty cool, especially the character animation.

Thanks for pointing out the bugs, they've been fixed. I never thought to call that weapon the "sticky blaster"! I'm considering changing my username to that now. :) I hope to add a lot of animation using the same method.

Thanks for pointing out the bugs, they've been fixed. I never thought to call that weapon the "sticky blaster"! (it was always stickybomb). I might change my username to that now. :) I hope to add a good amount of animation using the same technique I used for the character.
