Back From the Wilderness

I have spent two of the last three weeks camping, which has given me some time to reflect on my current projects - where they are, where they are going, and what priorities they should each be given. For sure, working full time, completing a Masters Degree, and doing engine development are all very, very time consuming. Quite often the one that I enjoy the most is the one that I have to put on hold unfortunately. Such is the life of a single developer in an automotive state...

Anyways, barring me winning the lotto or someone offering me a great development job close to home, I need to prioritize and finish up my thesis. I'm to the point now that I have completed all of the software needed to begin the final analysis and writing that are needed, so it is just one of those situations where you have to 'Just Do It'. I've been putting off some work on it since I have been so excited about my other projects, but it must be done.

And so, tonight and every night hence forth I will be putting most of my time to the thesis. Fortunately I am moderately good at writing, and I know the subject matter very well now. Once I reach a point of about 80-90% I will allow some additional work on my side projects, but not before.

So here is hoping that I hit my stride and wrap it up in just a few more days [grin].
