A few months ago i posted a thread in the lounge about a project started by a group of artists on cgtalk, to model the whole city of Minas Tirith from the Lord or the Rings, in 3D. I'm helping them with a small real-time model viewer, whose next version will be available in a few days.

The Minas Tirith Project

They've been making a lot of progress in the last weeks, here are a few screens of the latest version:

Since this is a W.I.P, very few places are textured, but this will come later.

When that's textured, its gonna look even more amazing than it already does. Crap... I need to learn to model that well...

Forgot to ask: the project site speak about occlusion culling and other techniques. Waht are you using (and what will you use in the final version of the realtime renderer?). Just want to know because the amount of polys is insanely high (30,000/building!)

You can PM me your answer. Thanks.
