10 Fantasy Fights is a demonstration game by Merry Prankster Games. In 10 Fantasy Fights, you control a party of adventurers though a series of 10 fights designed to exercise all aspects of the SENG game engine. You will rapidly advance from a simple battle of a single inexperienced warrior against lowly minions, all the way to controlling a mighty band of legendary heroes against a near-invincible demon lord.

10 Fantasy Fights is a single player computer role-playing game for computers running Microsoft Windows. 10 Fantasy Fights is evocative of the classic CRPG games of the 90s, but updated to run well on modern computers, using modern technology.

Features:

  • Pause-able, Real-Time game-play - 10 Fantasy Fights runs in real-time for maximum realism, but allows you to pause the game any time to issue orders to your adventurers.
  • Party-Based - In 10 Fantasy Fights you control up to 4 main heroes, and can control additional summoned creatures.
  • Custom Game System - 10 Fantasy Fights uses the custom SENG RPG system, which will be familiar to pencil-and-paper RPG players, but updated to work well in a real-time computer environment.
  • Character Development - 10 Fantasy Fights features over 80 skills, hundreds of spells, and hundreds of items to customize your heroes to your liking.
  • 3D graphics - 10 Fantasy Fights uses a fully 3D graphics engine to provide a detailed, dynamic environment for your adventures.
  • Varied Adventure - 10 Fantasy Fights will lead your party through 10 fights with widely varied environments and tactics.
  • Free - 10 Fantasy Fights is a demonstration game, and is free for your enjoyment. Please give Feedback on the game so we can improve our games in the future.

I wish I could play your game a bit longer, sadly I'm running late today and need to get to bed... I love the overall feel for the game. It's a nice touch how you can select your party members, and they're not forever stuck with you. I need to get use to playing each character as quickly as possible because it's not turn based for moves. I didn't not try to pause the game and issue out orders! So maybe I'll do that next play tomorrow. I got up to the Shaman area, but died very quickly.

Good work so far!

Playing without pause is definitely a challenge. I'll be interested to hear if you can pull it off!

I was playing again today, still cannot beat those guys! Can barely damage them... I noticed one bug, when I was defeated for the "100th" time, no really! ;) Well, on my 1st death, I went back and they were gone??? I had to reload the game to get them back.

I guess I need to figure out how to damage them... Is there a way to level up in the game?

The way I did the scripting, you only need to beat one of the shamans to finish that quest. I bet you killed that one and didn't even notice.

You level up automatically when you do the quests. However, to get full powers, you need to spend level points. There is a flashing button in the Info screen. I will take as feedback that levelling up isn't obvious enough.

Especially at level five, you get a style skill which should greatly improve your character. Another tip... are you buying new equipment for each fight? You can afford significantly better equipment each time.

Specific hints for the shamans. If possible, avoid the monsters they summon; they are pretty weak. Either run by them, or summon some of your own to occupy them. The sooner you can get to bashing (or shooting) the demons, the better, as their spells will start failing due to concentration checks.

Good luck!

Umm... I ended up killing everyone but 1, still died. I went back and they're all still there??? My party selection I guess wasn't great, 2 melee and 2 casters, but I'm not sure what most of the spells do, is there an information screen for each spell? Can you also boot members and get new people in your party?

You must have missed the important one.

Spell information is available. R-click or double-click on the spell in the Abilities or the Actions screen. They are also documented in the manual.

You can boot members from your party by talking to them. Select your main character, click on the talk icon in the action bar, and click on the party member you want to talk to. He will ask if you want him to leave the party.

Hope that helps,
Geoff

Just posting back! I didn't get a chance to play much this weekend, had the flu, and still do! (Ohhh look! It rhymes!) I'll post back sometime this week, I hope to beat as many areas as possible!

Yay I was able to beat them!!! Sadly my whole party died, but Azbak Stonebreaker pretty much soloed the last two Demons and the minions! I must say I love duel wielding swords!!! I got completely killed during the Skeleton level though. I could kill two before getting my party killed.

For the skeleton archers, I recommend making sure your tough guys are closest to the skeletons so they get shot the most. If you can cast some spells or otherwise to raise your defense, that helps too. Also, I had good luck shooting some of the skeletons with my own archers, so not all of my party had to run around so much.

Good luck!
