Day 2/3 - Basic enemies/interactions

On day 2 I felt kind of terrible, so I didn't do much except add a climbing animation for the ladder.

Today however I added some basic enemies, they do not yet patrol but some basic left/right patrolling movement is planned.
They react to sounds, if you make noise they will go to the noise source, however only horizontally as they do not climb ladders.

If you are in their line of sight they will also move towards that source of whatever they see, and when in a certain range of the player, will open fire.

When you sneak behind an enemy you will get the option to eliminate them by pressing E. Right now it just plays the animation and doesn't do anything else.

Most people seem to be putting in a lot of effort and time into their projects, however I'm feeling not so great and I think I'll have to drop the "chain reactions" theme altogether and just focus on the assassination part.

That's looking pretty nice. What was your plan for the chain reaction? I'm imagining something like the guards reacting to each other and they end up shooting each other or soemthing.

Oh dear--I'm sorry to read that you're feeling poorly. :/ I hope that it doesn't prove too great a hindrance, and that you recover swiftly!

 

Either way, it looks like a good start, to me. ^_^

Thank you, I appreciate the support :) I'll see how far I get with the game, just going to take it easy and work on it as I see fit

That's a cool idea, my original plan for the chain reaction was something very vague that I can't even explain because it doesn't apply to how the game currently is. Your suggestion is valuable though and gave me some ideas :) I'll have to see what I do with it if I still decide to use the chain reactions theme

Heh, if that doesn't end up working then you can add a bunch of exploding barrels to provide a chain reaction. Although it's not really stealthy, everybody loves exploding barrels in games right? :D
