October 2018 GameDev Challenge Poll

18 members have voted

You do not have permission to vote in this poll, or see the poll results. Please sign in or register to vote in this poll.

Select which themes you would be interested in for the next GameDev Challenge. You can select as many as you'd be interested in seeing - so be selective in your choice.

I'll let this poll stay up through the rest of the week and close it end of day Saturday.

I come to this forum quite often and I am subbed to this group. However I never see any activity, I don't get any notifications, and it is very difficult to locate the info in this group even when I'm looking for it. I wouldn't even know about this challenge except for Rutin's reply showing up on the main page.

And there is also this...

"You do not have permission to vote in this poll, or see the poll results."

I missed the chance to participate in the last challenge. If you're going to make it so difficult to get information even if one is subbed, well, I just don't get it.

I think right now the site Admins are trying to work out the bugs since they revamped the site about a year ago.  There are some bugs floating around for various users and it's hard for them to pin-point where the problems lie.  They by no means want to discourage your participation in the poll.

I mentioned in another thread that there is a bug for Group notifications. It's best to click the "Follow" button on the group page to ensure you get them. Nearly everything on GameDev.net can be followed.

I also suggest reviewing your Notification settings in the Profile -> Account Settings menu to make sure they aren't turned off for updates you might want to see.

I can't explain the poll problem. It expired, so it might only show results to those who voted.

Oh goody, another setting I can't find easily...

ED: OK, I give up. Where exactly?

Last item in this screenshot (click on your Profile avatar in the top right of the page/header):

Which takes you to the Account Settings page. Notification Settings in the top right.

Lots of options to choose from.

Also, to follow the group, click the Follow button (blue button) on the Activity tab of the group.

The Activity tab is going to show everything that happens in the group, so if you follow it, you'll get notified of everything. It will also show in the Following tab on the front page.

OK, I clicked follow. That should be automatic when someone subscribes, otherwise, what's the point of subscribing? I noticed nothing different after I subscribed originally.
