Frameworks, tooling and other drugs



It's been long since some colleagues and me "achieve" our unfinished Red Atlas I project. A full hackaton weekend trying to do a strategic game and the full weekend deep inside PhaserJS, our bet on free game frameworks and engines.

Phaser 2 CE & Webpack 3
I liked Phaser framework and I wanted to come back to this framework, so now here I am again, working with an idea of #isometric #RPG. Well, not now, Phaser released its 3.x version and webpack is in its 4.x version. I started this idea some time before, using Phaser 2 CE and Webpack 3.x and it looks like is not easy to migrate to Phaser 3 now for me. The future will say...

As I re-started this idea many times searching for a good architectural approach to work with this toolchain I decided recently to upload and share the boilerplates I used to start. I hope it helps someone!

      I am using SignalR and I can't get a C# command to call the printinitial JavaScript function.  I have a similar example that works fine.  When debugging it does step on this.  I've been scratching my head for hours, please help me.  
      Here are the two functions, what could it be?
      C#.net :

      I want to make an 2D endless runner, that also allows player to go backwards.
      So I have to create random world as the map goes, also keep the old map in case player goes back. I ask about how to update and render this program.
      I am thinking having a generate function that takes an x value and generates world from x to (x + chunk size) and when camera reaches x + chunk size, call this function again to generate more map:
      function source(x) { // generate world for x value }; And maybe use this function like:

      Project Story: Condors and Ocelots have been at war for generations. Battles have left some settlements in ruins. Others teem with refugees. Even away from the fighting, towns and villages suffer from having their fighting-age citizens lured away or conscripted by one faction or the other. Players control their armies and try to wipe out their opponents! Use terrain, abilities and pure cowardice if need be to achieve victory for your faction!

      Hello everyone,
      I am currently developing a small hobby project called Bolygó. It is a rogue-like dungeon crawling typing game where you get around through typing commands. The twist is the strong focus on "linguistics" as combat commands are like chants and must be performed in a fictional language I created. I have created a project page right here if you're interested in seeing more.
      The game is developed using javascript, so currently it is web-only--I plan to delve into tech like electron to potentially turn it into a standalone version.
      Help wanted: for short, pixel art peeps are welcome. Anyone that'd like to help with drawing the graphics and has a bit of time to spare would be welcome--you'll need to stick to the game's atmosphere however.
      As I have never done pixel art before, my skills are coercively lacking. Thus if anyone with a bit of experience would like to simply provide feedback on my works that would also be a great help.
      Finally, I am not an english  native speaker but I still intend to first develop the game in english. If anyone would like to proofread, help is welcome in that regard too.
      If you possess any other skill you think could be relevant to the project and would like to lend a hand, you are more than welcome to contact me as well! I am open to all suggestions (and anything akin to criticism and feedback)
