Pondering about some ideas

I'm quite busy with my day time job right now. Although there are no product that have to ship soon, BB (Big Boss) asked everyone to work harder. Fact is, that there are some new software packages which haven't been sold yet but BB wants to finish them. So, please, people, work harder (unpaid) to finish them. Oh yes... do it while you work on your other projects. Don't bother with the fact that you have a project plan for client A and one for client B which is set up for the same dates. Just work harder. I'm sure you can do everthing in half the time... oh yes... forget the holidays you have booked 2 months ago...

Oh well... sometimes you think you just have found a job that snuggles with you family life and then you have to call 2-3 times per week at home, telling you wife that she has to wait for you (again) for at least 1 to 2 hours. Yes, you can prepare dinner and eat without me. Give a big kiss to Laura (my 3 year old daughter) and Timeo (my 5 month old son). No, I don't think that I'm gonna be later than 2 hours... Sure... I will tell them that I have a family to take care of.

Currently I see my children 20 minutes in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening before they go to bed. That sucks.

Oh well.. enough rant... back to the positive side :

Yesterday I've tested skype with a friend living in the UK. It's a great tool and it worked without any complicated configuration. Install it, register, use it. Nothing to pay (unless you want to call a fix line phone through your internet connection).

I've been working on some ideas for game concepts. Nothing that I could really talk of here.

I've only done some programming yesterday (and not the days before). I must rethink a little bit my ShaderImageMap class which ties a texture bitmap with a name. This is used for the variable mapping in my renderdesc (similar to the DX effect files). Currently I have some problems putting anything else than pure bitmaps into the ShaderImageMap class although they are all IImage based.
