Day 2 - The right direction

I got a fair amount of solid work done today. I was fairly happy with the general layout of the engine design yesterday so I got down to coding. I've decided that I'm going to put together the game and the engine at the same time, so I can test each module as it's created. I got the kernel, the smart pointers, and a few other base interface classes up and running. I've just got the WinMain function in the game at the moment but its creating an instance of the kernel and releasing it properly.

The design of the game is also comming together. I spent a few hours over at Dr Defaults place and we worked out most of the major gameplay features. I'll probably get to work on the design doc tonight and throw in what we have so far. If I have time I'll get the window creation code into the engine tonight. It won't take me long so I'll probably get it done.

I also have to get a bit more MapleStory in today. I was on thismorning but I didn't get to play for long. I was never really convinced about MMOGs before, since I've never really had the desire to pay for one, but this has really shown me how much fun they can be. I'd say though that it wouldn't be as much fun if I were paying for it.
