Firstly, and most importantly, I got my results back from Oxford. They've given me an unconditional offer. That means a full set, six out of six unconditional offers. So... I'm pretty stoked about that.
Secondly, I went to see The Incredibles on Saturday night. It's good. Go see it, if you haven't already. Go see it again, if you have. Though if you've got very young kids I wouldn't recommend it for them - it's darker than Pixar's previous work (which brings it closer to what I like to see), with lines like:
This isn't like what you see on TV. They won't go easy on you because you're children. If they find you, they will kill you.
Yeah. Oh, and it caused me to realise how unbelivably cool a girlfriend who can turn herself invisible would be with regards to one's sex life. Sorry, I know I shouldn't be thinking things like that about Violet, no jury in the world would convict me, victim of society, I tells ya, etc etc (I mean, c'mon, with lines like "she'd eat Tony," can you blame me?). But yeah. It'd be even better if she'd inherited some of her mother's elastic powers...
Thirdly, we had our annual mince pies and mulled wine party thing last night, which was cool. I met up with some people I hadn't seen for a while, and spent a fair amount of time chilling out with a nice young girl I've known for a while but don't see very often. We were trying to compile a list of the most referenced films (and as such, one would assume, the most influential) - with things like Casablanca and The Godfather topping the list, along with the likes of Indiana Jones and Star Wars. At some point I should try and do all 100... perhaps IMDb has something. Suggestions are certainly welcome.
