Why?

Why does the word "Why" not have a vowel?!

I PROTEST THIS VOWELARY DISCRIMINATION AND SUBMIT TO YOU, POPULACE OF THE EARTH, TO END THIS BARBARIC PRACTICE, AND GIVE THE WORD "WHY" THE VOWELS WE'VE SO CARELESSLY EXCLUDED FROM ITS SUBSTANCE!!!

FROM NOW ON, THE ANTI-VOWELARY DISCRIMINATION LEAGUE (AVDL) WILL OFFICIALLY RECCOMEND THAT THE PROPER SPELLING OF "WHY" IS "WHAI". YES. TWO VOWELS. TO MAKE UP FOR THE LACK OF VOWELS THE WORD HAS HAD FOR MANY CENTURIES NOW.

But now you're discriminating against try. Whai should 'why' get vowels, and not 'try'? For that matter, how about 'fly'? 'My'? 'Spy'?

They get representation as well. Whai is just the poster-boy.

And for those of you who will complain about the newfound discrimination against 'y', keep in mind that 'y' still has plenty of words it can claim as its own. Oxymoron, for example. Indubitably.
