Well, I decided to rewrite an older module of the entity instancing system. Took the last two days, but the end result is much faster, and much cleaner. There is also a bit of work I want to revisit in the entity definitions component before I can stamp this section as complete. I am still working out the details of the mesh and material system with Sages; we have some excellent ideas for an extremely flexible data-driven material system, but we need to decide if integrating it into the editor at this point is practical.
