Path Class flawed to the core

After trying to get my Path Class working for the last few hours I have to realize that I was using a flawed concept. I have each actor placed on the map by tile coords so that when I go to draw them, they get drawn at the right time for the layering process. Now the problem is that I want to move a character, but the drawing layer is preventing it from ever being drawn right. So as of right now there is no way for an actor to scroll from one place to another. If this were a simple 2D tiled game it wouldn't be a problem, but having it drawing fake 3D really complicates things. The only idea that I have that might be able to fix this would be to have XYZ AND layer coordinates... but this means a complete redo of the display engine methods, and I still have my doubts if that would work...

THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*
