I thought I could use it as a mousemat initially, but unfortunately my optical mouse can't handle the shiny plastic.

Oh, and if you thought that a PS2 mouse/keyboard with a PS2->USB adapter on the end was the same as a USB mouse/keyboard, think again. I need to go buy a USB keyboard and a new KVM [sad]

Nah, too heavy.

It runs almost totally silent, though. A very, very quiet hum. Quiet to the point that I wasn't sure if it was on or not when the KVM was switched to the other machine.
