I finally got enough of the guards movement code in place to be able to test the system out. The A star algorythm code worked perfectly first time without memory leaks. I was quite chuffed about that. Its just the code that makes the guard proceed along its chosen path thats giving me the headaches - I hadn't really expected this. I should be able to sort out the remaining one or two issues in that movement code tomorrow morning.

And that should be the last of the major systems done with. Now its just a case of putting together the actual gameplay. The end is in sight.
