The magazine department of our local Tom Thumb decided to obscure the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition with a chunk of black cardboard. Two feet away in the same magazine rack, though, were copies of FHM and Maxim featuring much more scantily clad women on the cover.

Rather reminds me of the time I tried to buy a can of spray paint from Target. I was told by the stock-person that Target does not stock spray paint because they only stock things that can be sold to people under age 18. I pointed out that they have no problem selling beer and R-rated movies, and I got the patented "I don't get your point" expression.

This reminds me of the fact that you can die, in war, for your country (US) at 18 but you can't buy beer until your 21. Oh the irony!

But what he meant was "I don't get your point...we make a lot of money on those items." - Oh well. Are they really conservative if they're only conservative when it suits them? I mean what kind of society do we have here? Oh yeah, unprincipled and ambiguous.

That simply means that they haven't been sued over selling the R-rated movies or the beer yet.
