XML bay-bee...

Scratch that last post, I've decided on using XML for my animation AND character data, all in one. [smile]

I still kinda agree with h_o_p_s in that xml is ugly (like html), and that it is overkill. But I need every gimmick (for lack of a better word) I can grab hold of in order to speed up my development process (due date: May 17).

Something like this:
"Guy">

50

55
55
50

"true">Broad Sword
"false">Long Bow

"true">Leather Armor
"false">Chain Mail

"3"/>

"26">Secret Key

Please let me know if you can offer any better ways to structure this design.

Umm.. what's a weapond? Is it a cross between wheat and a pond, a wheat pond? I'm just kidding .. it is spelled weapon though, unless of course you spelled it that way for some reason of your own. Don't know if you care, but just thought I'd say so anyways, although I hear wheat ponds are deadly.

Oh and where can I get a cheeseburger potion?I love those, but we don't have them in my town any more.

XML is lovably fugly but its easy to read in and everyone knows it so why not? I usually use a comma seperated (.csv) file format as I can easily mess about with the values in excel but that probably wouldn't do for what your doing.
