Final Boss: Iteration 1

After a night of design and modeling, ive come up with the first iteration of the final boss, General of the Ashidian Army, Rhajad Ruhl.

He is esentially a beefy guy in some serious body armor =)

His weapons are those claws =D

The blue glow is from the mana feed on his back (armies need to bring mana with them if they attack somewhere), so he has plenty and as a result can bring on some serious spells =D

probably could do with some more texture details. particularly on the breastplate, im thinking some symbols would be nice =D

Comments please.

How does he line up against Morning? In the picture, he looks "shrimpish", almost, because I have nothing to line him up against. Also, his legs look a little too skinny/short.

Personally, I think it would make sense for him to be greatly bigger than Morning -- just so the player understands why he is the general, and not just another character. Make him huge -- it will make taking him down all that more impressive/fun.

Yes, he is the largest enemy in the game, he is about twice as tall as Morning.

Yeah, im thinking I need some armor on those legs.

I think the issue is that you buffed up the arms so much and they are so long, that he kind of looks like a gorilla without lengthening his legs.

I will agree with visage here, and I would also like to point out that his feet look a little round. That or the spikes are too uniform, I think a good way to make something look more evil is to make the armor very sharp looking jagged and random, more like they don't care if its exact or not they are just going to go out and pound on things.

However, Overall I really like all the new models that I'm seeing

I think the spikes could end up working against you, especially the feet spikes. You should make a pic of him being the actual game size against the background of where you'll be fighting him and see how he looks.

It's easy to make something look cool when you can zoom in to however much detail you want...it's a lot harder when you have size and color constraints : )

I agree with Turt99, he might actually look a bit more imposing if the spikes were somewhat less uniform (in placement, shape and size), or perhaps if there was some pre-existing gore on his armour.

If it's doable within your constraints, perhaps make the boots slightly more foot-shaped rather than symetrical looking as well.

Can we get a look at him in some scenery for scale? (Even if it isn't the scenery he'll actually be encountered in).

YAYYYY! ITS ALMOST DONE!! Too bad the last up coming bit of polishing will take so much time...The old last 5% takes 95% of the time rule.
