[4E4] Load-time Surface Recoloring

Sign in to follow this

Well, I got back last night and started working on 4E4 (going to be going hardcore 4E4ing for awhile) and cranked out a couple of functions to recolor surfaces during run-time. Basically, this will allow me to use a "generic player" color on the sprites and have it filled in with any color in RGB format. Whee.

You'll notice I'm in dire need of a pixel artist...

I think it's great dude... one of the best examples of programmer art I've come across.

Thanks guys - I really appreciate the enthusiasm. Going to do some more work on the map scrolling, culling and other optimizations before I try to get some stickfigures walking around. [grin]

Well, maybe not stickfigures. But I don't think they're going to be very pretty for a while (engine before art) :/
