Uh, no

It turns out that my dad found about my journal on google and now reads my journal, too.
So, errr, hi dad!

So I finally fixed the rating problem that I had with Will F on the last entry. Basically, I posted something that could have been offensive to certain group of people, and he tried to answer with sarcasm and apparently it didn't go very well. But we ended up fixing the rating that he lost because the sarcasm didn't get carried over very well.

I would also like to mention this "rate down" deal can be very silly sometimes. There was that Pascal's triangle thread that Tron3k made a while ago, and he had asked for comparison between different languages as a program for outputting Pascal's triangle.
I posted a small code for generating his output in C#, and about 5 minutes after that I lost 14 points because someone apparently didn't like the fact that I have posted a C# code in a language comparison thread.
I guess at least Will's case was somewhat better than mine then.

Hi Pouya's dad. You should probably check up on some other stuff your son is doing on teh intarweb, cuz he is definitely up to no good.

I googled for Pouya's name and indeed, his journal is the very first result. Meanwhile, my name returns no results.

Pouya's dad, while you're son is up to no good, at least he knows how to write tutorials [grin]

Be glad you didn't post code in Objective C, I think people would appreciate that even less.

Does anyone outside of the NeXTSTEP world (Mac OS X, OpenStep, GnuStep, etc) actually use Objective C?

Not really, but there's not much point in using it without the *STEP stuff anyway. Give it a try!

I had noticed that gcc supports Objective C, and had been mulling over looking at it at some point. Maybe if I had a bit more free time.

I also haven't done any Mac dev in a couple of years and have been tempted to take a look at cocoa / obective c - but since I mostly use linux and cocoa is not portable (to the best of my knowledge) it probably ain't going to happen - especially if I ever get around to installing linux on the old G3 (I rarely use it though, and even at only 233mhz OS X 10.2.8 runs fine on it).

I'm glad that if you google for my name, you get 500,000 links for shitty e-tailers trying to sell my books, rather than some of the real meat about me.

It's funny that a google for "Ron Penton" doesn't even come up with ronpenton.net.

Stupid google.
