I should qualify that previous statement with... so far, C++ is easy. I made a few classes and tossed a few pointers around not exactly rocket science, but hey it's working. Maybe when I hit the Windows forms or web services chapter it will go down hill cause people seem to suggest it is difficult.

I think you're just really smart and so from a relative perspective it's probably really easy for you. I thought the same about it when I first started learning. The thing about C++ is that implementations are damn near infinite but optimal extensible ones aren't so common. You seem rather intelligent and so I'm betting that in a few weeks you'll be teaching us all. [smile] Luck!

Once you have a firm grasp on how most languages handle controlling a computer (memory management, logic, operations, functions, scope etc) switching between languages is pretty easy.

I like C++

Although I still want to stab template meta programming in the face... Go read Washu's journal for that insanity.

As my teacher at college told me:
"the first 3 or 4 languages are perhaps a bit difficult to learn...from there on...it´s pretty easy."

And as a added bonus...your not confined to one particular language but can pick and use the right tool for the right job.

Ya, I think you're right Michael and Must. It took me a while to get the idea of OOP though since I was one of those beginners all purpose symboic instruction code programmers from a long ways back.

Not touching meta programming until I write a few classes myself hehe.
