Angels 20 Version 0.8.1
Thats right folks, its finally here for you to mess around with and have fun with (or make fun of, if you're into that sort of thing). This update includes all of the cool things I've been talking about in my journal for the past week or two. The list includes:
-Easier Controls and Physics
-Revised Flak
-New Level to play in
-Special Effects such as vapor trails and water spray
-Improved textures
-The ability to restart the level without closing the game
Anyways, it's in the GDS, so whenever you can, download it, try it out, and let me know what you think.
I've decided to put a little sight-seeing tour in this entry that will take you through the level, and point out cool stuff (yes, I'm that bored), Dial-Up user beware:
Site #1: The Carrier
Site #2: The Sentry Island
Site #3: The Lonely Island
Site #4: The Humble Village
Site #5: The Ungodly Flak Concentration
Site #1: The Neat Little City (with a 7-11)
Well that was fun wasn't it? No? Ahem, moving on...
Mark wrote an artist update and he also made an updated Banner for Angels 20 that uses ukdm's kickass slogan suggestion, he also made another image which is explained in his entry. Speaking of his entry, here it is:

I can already hear the huzzahs as you brace yourself from another exciting Artist Update,
by me, Mark the Artist (aka.Prinz Eugn). I've been trying to work on finishing the Cuban
tileset lately, and it's almost complete. Thomas came up the idea of actually putting two
textures in one, and having it rotate to switch between the images. This has the advantage
of saving tile slots (Thomas limited the total amount of tiles for some odd reason), so you
could have the regular tile (such as a palm tree) and the 'damaged' tile (like a charred
stump). This would be an interesting idea, had it not increased my workload to
unnecessary levels. I already am finishing the Cuban tileset, and trying to start the tundra
one (forget the other ones), not to mention the multiplayer stuff. Thomas, to his credit,
did come up with an idea, which is to have an entire ship based tileset. The story would
basically consist of A) Finding the armed convoy and B) Destroying the armed convoy.
The enemies would consist of barges with flak cannons on them, small gunboat type
ships, and maybe even a boss-like unit such as a heavy missile cruiser at the end of the
level. I did make a mildly entertaining poster type deal (if a poster can be 256 by 256),
because I was extremely bored. The thought to make it arose from drawing those
universal cargo containers, my containers looked plain, so I decided they needed the
symbol for the side of them. I was thinking that the containers would be something of
value to the enemy, so the company would have to be evil, and for copyright purposes,
original. My thoughts were drifting around Cuba (having just drawn that tileset), and I
thought about how Fidel Castro is a man ripe for caricature. As I'm sure you can see
(Thomas better put that image up), the end result is... entertaining. I would like to note
(after Thomas's experience on Indiegamer with the Commie Raper missile) that I'm not
racist towards Cuba, or any other place or people, for that matter. The poster thingy is
designed primarily to make fun of Fidel Castro (who god knows could use a chuckle),
and maybe Arms Smugglers. Anyway, it's late and I need to get up early to get my
Permit, so I can start learning how to drive with something other than a goddamn
Driver's Ed worksheet (the only reason that class is bearable is the fact that it's full of hot
girls who apparently think I'm a really cool guy, Sweetness! [Sapo says: Yeah Right!]).
To finish off I have to say that Master of Orion 2 is the most enlightening device for
learning socioeconomics that I've ever seen.

Well, in spite of the possibility of being called racist against Cubans again (which I'm not mind you), here is Mark's poster:

Anywho, let me know what you think about the update, it's late here, so I'll talk to you guys later.
Talk about a freakin ride! That was FUN! :oP
Thanks for the midnight, err 3:30am, joy!
