I have failed to keep this updated regularly, and for that I apologise. I hope to rectify this in the near future as I continue with the previous project, but of late I have been busy working, moving house, and so on. So I will just say this:
I just turned down the opportunity to become a well-paid AI programmer in the game industry.
[assumption]Thoughts? I'll refrain from supplying my thoughts since it was obviously the lack there of that led you to that decision. =b hehe[/assumption]

I would hope you didn't turn it down without a particular reason... Care to tell us what put you off the job?
I've been considering games industry related jobs, and from all I've read it's the work/life balance (I don't wanna work a 300hr week [smile]) that puts me off...
Yeah, basically they couldn't give me any sort of guarantee that I'd be working reasonable hours. Although claiming they're trying to fix things with better project management, they admitted to having "a couple of months" of crunch time towards the end of each project, and they have about one project per year. I don't want to work 60-70hr weeks 1/6th of the time. On top of that, I got the impression from a friend of someone who works there already that people tended to work a bit of overtime most days, which really doesn't suit me.
What were you thinking, man!
