New screenie:

This is a screenshot of one of my games versus the AI opponent. I spent yesterday improving the AI code. Now the AI will retreat and take cover when it is getting the crap kicked out of it. This makes for more depth rather than just fighting an AI who blindly charges at you, although in some part this is what it does. However, this is not to say that the AI isn't a challange.

Oh by the way, I plan to get a real artist for the game soon, so bare with me.

Is that artillery!!!!!!

If so, can they attack over greater distances than other stuff?

I'm guessing those are indeed artillery, and the guys with dirty hats are snipers.

Artist, eh? I'd volunteer the guys on my team for you, but they're completely up to their neck in my stuff right now.

Are the mountains part of the background image, or are they dynamic entities which can be rearranged when designing levels?

Oooh, I didn't even notice that those guys were different.

BTW, looks to me like Blue team is going to win.

Okay, to answer your questions:

Yes, those are indeed artillary, and like the snipers, they can fire greater distances.

The mountains and trees are stored in an STL vector which was created by an external map editor that I made.

Also, the AI will hide behind mountains and trees if it is retreating.
