Hi all, my name is Opera. I am a web browser that has advertisements unless you pay for me. You know what's great about me? I do everything Mozilla Firefox does.. but for $39!

...

*sigh*.. you're right, there's no reason for me (opera) to exist. *sob*

I was speaking first-person as the browser.. =P

Seriously though, after installing Opera I just don't see why someone would pay that much for it. It doesn't do anything particularly novel that you can't get from Firefox.

I used it a long time ago and I didn't find the banner that bad, but I switched it to "Google text ads". The normal image one is almost always stupid flashy smilie ads that suck, suck HARD. The thing I really hated was that sometimes when I entered a URL it would just go to some "Buy Opera" page and I'd have to restart it.
Plus it used like 30MB's of RAM for one page...

You must be kidding! Firefox is extremally unusable. When I reset computer, or even close browser or whatever, it loses all my open pages! At this moment I have 47 pages opened in Opera, and often I have twice that much. It uses 50 MB of memory right now, firefox would use much more- but it doesnt matter since Firefox would destroy my opened pages before anyway. And Opera is much faster! And now it's free.

And both pale in comparison to Maxthon (previously MyIE) :)

Firefox is nice, but it just isn't quite tweaked yet, especially the tabs. I might one day switch, but not until I can control where tabs are created (such as, beside the tab they were opened from), what it switches to when you close a tab (perhaps the last open?), create hotkeys and mouse gestures for everything, and close the browser knowing I won't lose my place.

Best of all, it's free! (or can be, it does prompt for a donation, but only once)
