MMORPG, Bowling, and other nonsense

==================================================
... Another MMORPG ....
==================================================
Wretched things, they're everywhere! Anybody have a serious problem with this genre of gaming? I personally love them, but they seem to suck your life away. I've -kind of- gotten better about them, but eh.

So. I downloaded Maple Story [www.mapleglobal.com] and I have been messing around with it. I love the way the game has been built. It seems rather easy, just time consuming. Not sure if I'll continue playing but I have a 14 Warrior right now.

Also, thought about diving into WOW for awhile, but I'll probably back away from that temptation... (Friend of mine wont leave me alone to start playing... I need more dev friends. lol)

Vangaurd: Saga of Heros is coming out in the near future and all of the guys I used to play EQ2 with are going over to there, so who knows, I may just kick-start and give that one a whirl...

Bottom line, theres just not enough hours and the day and I wish I could turn off my sleeping clock in my brain. :)

==================================================
Bowling!!!
==================================================
Anybody around here love to bowl? I'm not the most athletic person in the world, but somehow I managed to mingle my way through the Marines with flying colors. Everybody compaired that to 3/day football practice. But regardless. I love to bowl.

Got a new ball/bag today to UP the game. I've been pretty dedicated to the sport and have achieved an 170 average, but with this new equipment I am hoping to jump into the 200's.

==================================================
Laptop
==================================================
The laptop is near completion, the only real big problem that I've come across is the monitor piece that I had to re-strip and re-paint due to some BADDDDDD orange peal. Sense it has been raining here all week, I do not have an idea when I'll beable to paint it! ;|

But. Its all assembled, and it all works. I'm happy as hell. Everyone told me not to do it, but !@#$ em'. I back down from no challenge!

==================================================

Alright then, I thought i'd post something to occupy some time! Take care fellas!

Don't you mean "wretched"?

Anyways, I think something you'll find about Maple Story fairly soon is that, unless it's changed in the last few months, there isn't a huge incentive to keep on going aside from leveling. That's certainly what turned me off about 5-6 hours in.

I did. Thank You Kindly.

----

I play MMO's with a different mindset. I'm one who plays to achieve a specific status, so to speak, to see whats out there (out there being, weapons, armor, monsters, scenery, etc). Leveling up, and then seeing what kind of goons come at you in other, more dangerous, parts of the game. It all seems like nonsense at the beginning, but once you finally achieve that level, another world opens up.

Bottom line. It really doesn't need a storyline to bring me into the game, because frankly, keeping up with a storyline/lore is hard for me. Thats why I read programming books instead of novels. I just dont have the willingness to soak it in.

If you enjoy your life and any bit of dev time you have, stay clear of WoW. It will suck your life away and you won't even realize what happened. And if you can't resist the temptation, and end up on Durotan, shoot Sarrus a tell ;)

Tell me about it. Of all my many friends, not one of them knows what I'm talking about when it comes to anything even remotely related to programming.

My dad thinks that a program and a game are two different things, and he won't let me run any of my stuff on his computer because he doesn't trust me. [grin]

It sucks not having anyone to talk to face to face about game development.

But yeah, it sucks not having anyone to talk face to face to about game development.
