I ordered a laptop from Dell about a week ago. The website said that it was going to be shipped the 14th and I received it today (actually, I would have gotten it yesterday, but I was at work and it required a signature (which is about 2 weeks before I was expecting it)). I'm very happy with it. Here are the specs:

Inspiron 6000D
Intel Pentium MProcessor 760 (2GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
15.4 inch WSXGA+ LCD Panel
1GB, DDR2,400MHz 1 Dimm
128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card
80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive (5400rpm)
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, English
Integrated 10/100 Network Cardand Modem
8X DVD+/-RW Drive
CyberLink PowerDVD v5.5 Decoding Sofware DVD Drives
Intel PRO/Wireless 2915 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g54Mbps)
Multimedia USB TV Tuner with Remote Control

Wow, very nice. Quite a bit more powerful than my desktop too. I hadn't realised how powerful computer technology had gotten in the last couple of years.

Now I feel an irrational urge to upgrade [smile].

Its more powerful than my desktop too (and I've been upgrading my computer for the last 2 months). But, I figured it was a decent buy for $2k ($65 a month). I'm going to be doing 2 payments of about $70 dollars a month for about 20 months.
