I've been thinking about how I want to work the AI for my new game. I'm going to use a state machine to control the AI's behavior. I have thought of the following states that I will use:
The AI will move towards the player's army while staying in a group.
The AI will start a full attack on the player's army.
The AI will hold its position and find cover near its location, than it will wait for the player to attack before attacking back.
The AI will calmly retreat away from the enemy, sticking as a group.
The AI will panic and run in a random direction, hoping not to get slaughtered by the player's army.
That is what I've got so far. Now I've actually got to put this into code.[smile]
