Day 1 of Development

Trapper Zoid

Here's a short summary of how I far I've gone with my "one week" game; "not very". Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to try to go straight into a one week competition just after a crunch period. Plus my body is constantly screaming for coffee; I hate trying to beat down caffeine addition.

Still, today I did manage to figure out how to draw sprites on the screen. It took a while to get SDL_image to link properly with the MinGW compiler, and also some time to figure out the correct OpenGL commands (my knowledge of OpenGL is still very poor), but I've got the raw beginning of a game done:

It's a start, but I'll need to work a bit smarter and faster if I want to get this finished by the end of the week. It's time to forget about trying to make any of this reusable and cope with horrible unreadable code!

I'll see if I can get this to alpha status tomorrow.>
