Stompy an adventure game???

I'm thinking that I should try to make Stompy2 a game that you can actually beat, rather than it just being an endless shooting fest(although I don't see the problem with that[smile]).

My thought is that the game starts off on the bottom floor of a lab building, and Stompy must fight his way up to the top floor. You get to the next floor by getting to the stairs. I think this would make the game more interesting to play over a traditional arcade game.

Any thoughts? Is this a good idea?

The old Castle of the Winds duology made excellent use of randomly-generated levels with the use-the-stairs concept. I think the approach works quite well and should adapt nicely to Stompy.
