I've been asked to do a trailer for my game, including some of the gameplay... I have no idea how to do this. I'm not sure how to record gameplay to an avi. Any suggestions would be helpful... I'm supposed to have it done by Friday. Anyone have any suggestions? I could use a little help.

Can you get your game to periodically and automatically save screenshots to file, and then just use your favourite movie creation program to combine them all into one file?

If you need sound, then you'll have to do the same thing with the audio as well.

There might be a better way (and maybe some nifty third-party tools to do it for you) though; I'm afraid I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I thought of that... but I would imagine it would be really difficult to get a good sequence and be able to get the frame rate right. There has to be a better way... I just don't know what it is.

Thanks

If this is for a quick demo of gameplay, then use FRAPS (free mode). This will put a overlay (crediting FRAPS) on the file that is removed when you purchase the commercial version.

Good Luck

Thanks!

I take it FRAPS is some form of shareware program. I will look for it. [smile]
