I saw George W's speech last night. It sounded a little something like this:

The funniest part was when he said that Saddam Hussein was the one who made the decision to go to war.

You know what's sad? Here's exactly what went through my mind after I read his post:

"65, huh? I wonder if he just made that up or really counted. I don't really feel like counting them though, I wonder if there's an option in MS Word to count the instances of a word? No, there isn't. Hmm. Maybe I could write a little program to do that... Or! Maybe I should write a program to count the number of instances of any word, instead of just "bullshit"! Now what if I supported any regular expression too? That would be cool. Actually, you know what? Maybe I should just write my own text editor and have that as an option in a menu somewhere. You know what would be awesome? A text editor that allowed plugins! Yeah, I could make a text editor that used plugins and allowed the user to make any cool text editing feature they wanted! You know what, that's a hell of a lot of work for something I'll probably never use. Ultraedit is still the best."

Then I stoped caring.

A-ha! I figured it out!

In ultra-edit, copy the text into a new document. Open up a "replace text" window, type "bullshit" in "Find What" and "bullshit" in "Replace with".

Hit "replace all",

and...

65 items replaced

BRILLIANT!!!

Some of text editors have an option for "mark all" in the find menu. Then you don't even need to replace all.

I was keeping track. In seven minutes, he:

* Referenced 9/11 seven times.
* Said the word "terrorist" 16 times.

That was my first idea. But the problem with that is that they usually just mark the line that the text occurs on, which is useless to me.

.....i mean: counting words normalliy (no replacin bullshit)

As far as I could find, the option to count words counts all words, not just occurances of a single word. Which is therefore useless in this instance.

you should make a program that counts how many words are in a text and how many specitfic words are... unless there is already a program (on the computer) that does that then let me know
