Dump it. Use an established engine. Write a game. Engines are a means to an end, not an end unto themselves. Aspiring to write an engine is the moral equivalent of aspiring to build a hammer.

I've always had a certain admiration towards hammer architects. If writing an engine makes you happy, then write it. Programming is a pasttime in your case, so it should exist to let you do what you want, and enjoy doing. So just code what pleases you. :)

Hmm..

I love programming, my viewpoint is that use a built engine that I'll not learn all that I want to learn =P.

I think that will be very interesting someone talking about this same subject and say:

"Don't build and engine, use the Kerkhoff engine, it will solve your problems".

I have time, if my engine don't obtain success, I'll write a game using some built engine.

Thanx...
