Have you ever worked so much on something that your mind turned to mush? Have you ever gotten to the point where you are forgetting things as soon as you hear them or read them?

Yesterday, on the way to work, it was raining and the road was wet. Heading up to a stop sign, I was going too fast, and when I applied the brake, I slid for about 30 feet. At exactly this same time, there was a truck(yes, there it is again, my obligatory truck mention) carrying a load of wallboard. Had I not stopped in time, I would have rammed right into the side of the truck, and probably be dead or at least seriously injured. But I stopped in time, and the only thought I had was:

I still have to go to work.

Yes, there is a downside to avoiding accidents.
