Well today I got a good deal of work done for our strategy game. I was able to meet with Mark today and we decided upon a damage model and a bunch of other little things. It's good that we've finally been able to finalize some stuff, and I can start to work on some fun things like combat and whatnot.
Mark drew up a Super Carrier today, which looks pretty cool as you can see below. Soon he's going to draw some smaller versions to replace my crappy ones on the tactical map.
Today I added functionality to the pop up menus, and binded them to actual ship types, so that a carrier can have a "Launch Fighters" option, and a Repair Ship can have a "Repair" option. I also added the damage model, so ships can fight now (minus the actual battle screen animations).
Today, Mark and I were throwing around the idea of having your player be able to "level up", and gain rank as the game progresses. We thought it would be cool if you could view "yourself", with your uniform, medals, and whatnot. Anyways, Mark drew up this quick sketch, which reveals his one artistic weakness... feet[grin].
Anyways, I'll talk to you guys later!
